If we are including commentators, Sean Kelly saying “Paris Nice” always cracks me up

from the most recent wheeltalk podcast ep.

Can’t remember if we published this anywhere (maybe a Spin Cycle newsletter? A podcast?) but I asked him about my misconception that it was Tim Tom instead of Tim Torn, and how I then wished it was Tim Tam… which is how I learned he’s a massive TimTam enthusiast, and had fond memories of them during his youth, visiting Australia. For contractual reasons he’s not officially allowed to discuss a brand not sold in Lidl, but we brainstormed alternatives that he could pitch, like Tim Tom.

Maybe we can push “Tim Tam Slam Teutenberg” as his nickname. It’d work better if he was a pro wrestler.

On the topic of least fun names I gotta say it’s the combination of Sean Quinn and Quinn Simmons. How am I supposed to not mix them up? And they’ve both been US national champ too!

What? Funky?

No. Look up how you phonetically say the French word ‘fin’

The German pronounciation comes closes: https://forvo.com/word/vinke/

This has aged well!

Today’s breakaway in the not-Dauphiné was a veritable feast:

Julen Arriolabengoa (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), Robbe Dhondt (Picnic-PostNL), Felix Engelhardt (Jayco-AlUla), Thibault Guernalec (TotalEnergies), Hugo Houle (Alpecin-Premier Tech) and Pepjin Reinerderink (Soudal-Quick Step)

Every single one a total banger.
