Clik valve system conversion

Does anyone actually use Dunlop valves since the 70s??

Genius!

How are you attaching the Clik pump head adapter to the Fumpa elbow nozzle kit?

That’s what the shock pump hose is for - it has a presta valve sized inlet connection so I can just push/thread that into the Fumpa presta head as it is in the photo.

I also just received my eBay presta-Schrader adapters so I can now do the same thing with a simple 10mm long adapter.

I’ll add photos later.

I see. So you are pushing but not threading that into the Fumpa elbow nozzle. I just found out Fumpa has this universal chuck connector that has a Shrader thread that you can connect the Clik head directly but I am not quite sure how that universal chuck connector attaches to the elbow nozzle kit.

I hope the photos below will help show what I’m talking about.
I bought our fumpa with the hose adapter as well as the standard direct mount head.

Both of the fumpa heads have reversible seals with schrader sized holes in one size and presta in the other (and a reversible plastic pin for the schrader valve).

I figured I’d rather just use a presta adapter in the presta head instead of having to pull the head apart each time I used it on differenent valves, hence I now have a choice of presta adapters and I’ll buy the presta version of the clik pump head when they are released.

I actually prefer to thread the presta adapters into the rubber seals, rather than just push, because I think that will chew the rubber less and thereby prolong the life of the seal.

The fumpa head and elbow use a quick connect hose coupling that slides on to the plain plastic hose and then you have to press the collar to release the hose if you want to disconnect it. The coupling is like the John Guest plumbing couplings shown in this video… https://youtu.be/1tZRIXCzgZE

I just heard back from one up and they have no intention of making a clik valve head for their pumps. A bit disappointed tbh. This is the kind of thing I would have thought would be right up their alley. They suggested I 3d print an adaptor which I will look at.

Really? That is pretty disappointing. I was waiting for them to release one.

Yeah, that’s a real bummer.
They sure gave me the impression they were watching the market.
Hopefully cliks will take over the market so they have no choice.

According to Silca’s testing, it takes 6-7 psi to overcome the spring in the Clik valve core. This means you have to add 6-7 psi more for your desired pressure if you’re using a Presta pump head to fill your Clik valve core.

It’s at the 2:45 mark of this video. Do Clik Valves Actually Work with SILCA? Josh Explains - YouTube

Maybe it takes 6-7 to keep it open but it was a lot more than that when I tested it. :man_shrugging:
Either way it renders the OneUp pump too hard to use for Hels and me.
It’s ok with floor pumps and skinny high pressure road pumps, but not stubby MTB pumps, in our experience, with our puny arms.

Actually, I’ll recant my definitive statement. Maybe I was a little hasty in declaring they wont after they suggested I 3d print something. here’s the text from their email. Im still a bit disappointed though. Unlike other brands with multiple pumps theres literally one piece they need to produce for the one up pumps.

”Currently we’re investigating creating a Clik head, but there’s no timeline on if/when it will reach the market.

I have personally seen a few customers 3D a custom head that can fit the Clik SV conversion kit inside it.

I can’t officially recommend this solution, however I’m sure if you do some searching you will find the files, or like minded people.”

I have a Fumpa OG pump - the customer service is fantastic. They are just making a clik adapter available in the US. I love the pump and returned a Silca that I couldn’t get to work well. On the bike I have the Cycplus Ultra - need to find a clik adapter for that - and a wolf tooth pump that is set up for click.

interesting to read Silca c02 heads work with Clik or need an adapter? I have some wolf tooth adapters arriving.

I hope the extra airflow in the Clik will allow me to more easily seat my tubeless mountain bike tires.

Someone found that the Fumpa adapter is a perfect fit for the Cycplus.

If you use the hose that comes with Cycplus AS2 Ultra, the Clik pump head adapter fits right in there without any other adapter.

I was trying to get a 2nd OneUP EDC inflator so I could hack one to fit the schraeder diameter of the standard click adapters. Back in August, OneUp told me to get it from MTBDirect, but MTBDirect’s website said it was unavailable. So I contacted MTBDirect and they fixed their website and said they would order some in their next order.
This week, MTBDirect tell me they are no longer the OneUp importer since PON bought OneUp so now I have to wait until PON sort their sh-t out before MTBDirect can order more inflators so I can buy one.
Yet another perfectly good product / company fecked over by a big investment company…

yep agree on the PON thing. will see how well they keep supporting with spares etc. Wolf tooth looks like it will be the way to go, but there pump just doesnt fit as many tools inside it.
It’s just annoying me cause it’s such a small item that they could probably whip up in an afternoon. Instead I will likely just buy a wolf tooth pump.
Im not suprised by MTB Direct losing one up either. I figured something had changed when Pushys started stocking them and the price dropped a bit.

Has anyone found a source to buy the valves in bulk vs two at a time?

Sit tight. Looks like a bulk option is coming.

Can’t wait until the prices come down too. ;-\
