Regarding shoes, I would make the rule that they can be any colour, except black or white.
What’s wrong with black shoes? Clearly they are slower … just look at any picture from this year’s tour and the prevalence of white shoes compared to that of any other groups of slower non-pros

No full kit of polkadots, white or green allowed if you are only “borrowing” the jersey. Then team or preferably black shorts, and neutral GPS

Agreed, but with a further caveat…if you have no chance at the final jersey, then go all in on the color-matching. Enjoy your day(s) in whatever jersey you have. You may never get another chance.
But if you are in contention for it overall, act like it. Black shorts and regular team lid. Ssve the color matching for the final day.
And under no circumstances should a rider wear polka-dot anything except the jersey. Solid color-coordinated shorts are the correct answer…wear red shorts, FFS. Polka dot shorts are just fugly.

Can you elaborate on this? What do you mean?
It goes along with riders having a permanent number. EF DOES THIS: their kit is pink every year, so you can easily pick out EF riders in the peloton/ break without much effort. I couldn’t look at a peloton shot and pick out riders on more than one or two other teams. I’m advocating for teams to develop an identity so it’s easy for fans to identify teams
This pains me as some one who is 6 ft. But no frames over 54cm. The look stupid, the angles of the seat stays is too steep and the head tube is too tall. Smaller frames just look better.
This also makes me crazy in American ball sports. The hard Boston Red Sox’s have an alternate uniforms that’s blue and yellow. There is some strained historical reference involving the colors but the Sox’s are a red and blue team end of atory
