I had a gore windstopper microfleece beanie for many years which was made for runners but worked great under a helmet. It had a flat bottom edge so it could be worn off the bike and not have it look funny the way the ones that drop lower over the ears/back of head do. Unfortunately I dropped it traveling last year (cause it worked great off the bike) and haven’t been able to find a replacement. The ones at gore all seem to have the drop over the ears look I want to avoid, the windstop hats I’ve looked at at REI are all too thick/warm to use under a helmet on a bike.
Any suggestions? I am used to windstopper, but maybe I have to give up the windproof.
