After picking up a used CAADX and immediately stripping it down to a bare frame (the upgrade urge is strong in me my friends) i am left with a pile of worthless parts:
- QR 100/135 disc wheelset
- dropbar 2x10 shimano groupset
- mechanical discs (one postmount, one IS)
- 27.2 seatpost
- threaded bb
- all the other bits required to complete a build
I could put it all in the bin, or find a frame to strap it all to and donate that to a good cause.
Any ideas on suitable frames that might be ubiquitous in the Australian used market?
There’s probably a third option where you donate the parts to a local bike kitchen/repair community. In Melbourne there’s a bike shed at Ceres where they accept parts as donations and then help people who rock up repair their bikes. You could likely find a local equivalent.

Ah yes! I am in Melbourne - was thinking of dropping the end result into Ceres or a similar org but suppose the pile of parts could be useful to them too. Something to be said for the whole being greater than the sum of its parts though?
Potentially but there’s plenty of people who rock up their with existing bikes looking for parts to fix various issues.
