What happened to si.shimano?

Edit as I can’t delete the thread: turns out si.shimano.com doesn’t like VPNs. If you’re struggling to access it, that might be why.

Just checked and it is still there.

I’m just getting an “access denied” error message… very odd. I’ll try a different browser and see what happens

Can you post a screenshot of the error page?

It works for me too, both with and without using a VPN.

I don’t know if it’s just some quirk of my exact OS/Browser/VPN combo, perhaps, although it’s the same on Firefox and Safari. Either way, at least I now know it works if I just disable the VPN when needed.

Possibly it has to do not with the fact that you’re using a VPN per se, but where the VPN exit point is?

No issues from my end as well, via Proton VPN.

Shimano uses edgesuite.net for protecting their website. edgesuite uses all kind of heuristics to determine if you are legitimate user or potential adversary. You seem to use Linux and the browser seems to be “different” - not Chrome or Edge. One of the things that edgesuite checks is User-Agent header. I just tested from my own computer: “normal” browser worked but curl got error. You can find some more info about edgesuite. e.g. Edgesuite.net Access Denied Error When Visiting Web sites – Adam Leinss' Tech Tips

I suggest to try some common browser to see if this helps.
