I have had similar issues with Corsa N.ext TLR. Found that heavy braking can remove the rubber from tyre. Noticed this as I commute into London for work (once every two weeks I need to do an emergency stop due to someone else) and do a hill repeats training session once a week so again heavy braking.
Have moved onto Conti GP 5000 AS.
I just had another one wear out in exactly the same way. 10 months, 3500km.
It’s not the lifetime I’m used to with GP5000, but perhaps it’s acceptable?
What bothers me more is that it doesn’t just wear nicely like the Conti but chunks of tread disappear. I noticed it the top of a hill yesterday and had to cut my ride short rather than risk a blowout.
My retailer did ask the distributor last time and they said it was acceptable, and I didn’t have exact km figures that time.
