Using YBN or Shimano 12 speed quick links on KMC Chains

Hi fellow waxers. I find myself with a supply of YBN and Shimano 12 speed quick links, and a couple of KMC 12 speed chains that came on a pair of Giant Revolts that have been added to the fleet. I can’t find a clear answer on using YBN links on the KMC chains. Adam the Oracle of All Things Wax has a matrix that says “not officially”

Does anyone have any direct experience here? Given the waxed chains are lasting sooooo long and I use YBN links on the other chains (I have 15 chains in the rotation across 5 bikes - yep, probably need to get a life) I don’t want the complexity of adding another quick link into the mix.

No direct info to share other than my guess is it’ll be fine. If it’s not related to SRAM flat top chain then there should be no issue as the other 12spd chains are generally made to very similar specs.

Assuming you carry a spare quick link in your spares on the bike I can’t see any issues with giving it whirl? I use YBN links on Shimano and YBN chains personally.
