Unintelligible audio on Geek Warning (Going further on Gravel)

Typically the audio quality of Escape Podcasts is crystal clear. The audio quality of the male guest at the beginning of Geek Warning this week, however, was so poor as to be unintelligible. I had to fast forward any time he spoke.

Thank you for mentioning this. I thought the same but wasn’t sure how/where to communicate the issue. I hadn’t thought about a forum post.

It did make for difficult listening, which I thought was a shame because I enjoyed the topic of conversation.

I thought it was pretty rough at first too. I’m not sure if the quality got better or I just got used to it but I stopped noticing it half way through.

I found the audio difficult to understand when I listened initially on my phone speaker. Listening to the rest through headphones was much better but there was, for me, a noticeable lower quality/clarity on Kevin’s audio.

I had the same issue. I think the EC podcasters should have guests test their sound and if it’s as muddled as this episode, ask the guest to switch locations, mics, or whatever’s necessary. I was listening while driving and could almost never make out the guest’s words, which were low-end heavy and sounded like they were recording in a deep well. I actually decided to quit listening about 2/3 of the way through even though I thought the show was interesting and worthwhile.
