UCI Mountain Bike World Series

After a mid-season break, the mtb pro calendar is about to swing into a nice dense few weeks of racing!

  • Aug 30/31 Les Gets
  • Sept 13/14 World Championships Crans Montana
  • Sept 20/21 Lenzerheide
  • Oct 4/5 Lake Placid
  • Oct 11/12 Mont St Anne

As we’re now in a world of silly subscription streaming services, which are less deserving of our hard earned as they monopolise viewing rights, forcing fans to juggle subscriptions and vpn regions for limited live and catch-up access, all the while shrinking replay windows and locking away classic content, making us pay more for less.

So here’s a public service announcement (PSA): Signing up for two months gives access to four weekends of racing, plus maybe the worlds. Worth it?

Signing up to what, and in which region?

I’m keen to watch more MTBing, but always forget it’s on - typically because it’s not on during the Australian daytime, and then I forget to try and watch it before I find out what happened anyway! I’d love to know the easiest way to watch it over here.

Stan in Australia.

You will need to pay $20 on top of a stan subscription for the sport access

For watching the MTB World Cups (us being in Australia), we signed up to https://watch.ucimtbworldseries.com - but have to use a VPN to New Zealand (as it is available there but not in Aus). It wasn’t that expensive…. However they don’t have the World Championships listed on their schedule.

I just checked - it is US$5.99 per month.

Thanks Helen. $6/mo for the StayLive service that allows access to watch.ucimtbworldseries.com and a VPN is a good option.

Importantly, StayLive even provides replays for races that occured more than 14 days ago, unlike STAN (grr).

Not quite the same as RedBull TV still having races from 3yrs ago free to watch on demand, but a 14-day window for catchup is simply inadequate

Really enjoyed watching the BasketBike at Lea Gets this morning. Staylive’s attention to detail seems lacking

My son is in Les Gets today. I’m hoping for some first hand visual updates.

That’s a bloody tight XCC course!
and people reckon AI hasn’t improved our lives. Tell me that page isn’t AI generated. :exploding_head:

WOW. What a race!
