I am curious to hear your opinions on how long a tyre should last before you replace it and what it looks like at that point.
Background to the question: my first tyre on my gravel bike was a pathfinder (budget variant) and it lasted ca 4200 km. I then swapped in a Schwalbe G1 which rolls great but seems to reach eol much earlier at 1800 km. ( noticed small holes/cuts in the center thread and had a couple of flats from small rocks between tyre and tube.) Both tyres were used on mixed surfaces of ca 40% offroad and 60% tarmac.
Depends on surface, your weight, tire thickness, and compound used. Presuming the first two stay constant, it comes down to tire thickness and compound used. On the average, tires that are supple and fast will last less long.
