Touch-up paint?

I found the one patch of ice on my ride today and took a spill. Luckily, the only permanent damage is scratches on my Ulterga 8170 shifters. I need to do some light sanding to smooth them out, but was wondering what paint I can use to help cover the damaged area?

Maybe this?

Are there any general bog / paint do’s or don’ts for bicycle frames needing a touchup?

I’ve some damage on the stay of my bike - I see it every time I get on and it’s .. unsightly. I think from a hub whilst in the car on a long roadtrip.

The paint is going to be hard to match - a Cervelo off-white that a cricket commentator would call bone, off-white, ivory, …

There’s a few ways you can go with this. If you’re truly pedantic, then you’d want to try and find a colour matched paint, to get all matchy matchy, which will be difficult.

At the other end of the spectrum, you could just get a close enough (off-)white paint and spray it on. I don’t recomend using paint brushes, as you’ll often end up with streaks from the bristles. Heads up though, if you do go down the spray paint route, adequate masking is required, to prevent the frame from catching any of the stray spray droplets. And once done, adequate curing is required to avoid prematurely lifting any undried paint from the frame surface.

When I do have to touch up frames, I also very gently sand down the freshly painted surface, so it matches the thickness of the existing paint. Requires quite a bit of time, focus and concentration, and very fine grit sandpaper to get things all minty, by hand.
