Not sure if this is the right place….
But it’s kind of a tech question.
Wondering if anyone has an explanation of when you get some random Strava follower out of the blue?.
For example, today I got a follower from Turkey, looked through his feed, seems like a real person not a bot, but a runner not a cyclist.
I get if you do a group ride or something and someone that you don’t really know but that did the ride started following you.
But this is completely random.
Just wondering if anyone has any idea how and why this occurs. and when it does is it suggested to block them or just roll with it?.
I’ve had this quite a bit over the years. Not quite sure how or why it happens tbh, but it’s normally a solid block from me. You can browse other athletes now so maybe via there?
I get this too, sometimes. Usually looks to be some kind of fitness influencer wannabe. I always just immediately block them.
Sometimes people find random people to follow by the kudos list on other activities or from club posts … usually things with a wide reach like a ride from Tadej or a Strava club post.
I sometimes follow random people to learn routes in areas I’m not familiar with. I drop it after I’ve learned what I wanted.
