SRAM Maven Pad Rattle

I’ve been running a pair of Maven Ultimates on my trail bike for a year or so now, and recently replaced the pads with a set from Galfer. First ride out I experienced the well-known “pad rattle” noise that anyone who has used the prior generation of Shimano XT calipers has likely experienced (including me). I can’t find anyone online complaining about similar issues with the Mavens, however. I’ve tried adding some tension to the H-spring separating the pads, but to no avail. And with the wheel removed and retaining pin installed, I can ‘jiggle’ the pads slightly across the piston surface, suggesting this is, indeed, the source of the rattle.

I’ve remedied this issue in the past on Shimano XTs via rubber/velcro tape underneath the cooling fins, though no such option here with the Mavens. Any ideas? Is this an issue of the Galfer pads being slightly undersized relative to the OEM SRAM pads?

The noise is really driving me nuts… I may just go pickup some stock SRAM pads to see if it remedies the issue, but figured I’d check in here fist!
