SRAM gxp crankset coming loose

I have a 2007 specialized roubaix with a sram gxp crankset, and the left side crank arm has started to become loose while riding. The research I’ve done on the internet suggests that the if the splines have worn down then that can cause the bolt to loosen. Has anyone encountered this and aside from using some loctite is it a fatal flaw?

It’s a fatal flaw even with Loctite. Chuck it.

Second this. Battled for ages with one I bought used, new bolt, loctite, different bb’s. Long story short is, they are shite. Binned it off for a standard 24mm £30 Amazon Chinese special which weighs a ton but does actually stay on. Never touching GXP ever again.

I mean, the system is ok, but once the spline is damaged, it’s garbage. You did the right thing buying a new one!

Before jumping the gun.. Have you confirmed the splines are worn or damaged?

Ime, if you’re riding and it falls off, it’s done. You can try to bodge it but eventually you’ll end up with a new one. It’s like putting stop leak in your radiator…
