Rookie question here - Assuming I have a bottom bracket for a 30 mm spindle, will the SRAM AXS Thread Mount power meter be compatible with cranks with a 30 mm spindle? It has nothing to do with axle dimension, right? Right??

I’m not entirely clear on what you are asking. When you say thread mount power meter, does that mean the full crank set presumably with DUB spindle? If so then it is compatible but you will need an adapter or a new BB because SRAM spindles are 29mm.
The cranks will have their own 30 mm spindle. Will they be compatible with this powermeter or is it compatible with DUB axles only?
Yes, the cranks have 8-bolt interface.
If your cranks have the 8-bolt interface, then the SRAM power meter will work fine with your cranks.

Yep, I run the SRAM threadmount PM on my Cane Creek Cranks (which were 30% off - thank you Escape mamber purchase program). They have a 30mm spindle and the newer version is 8 bolt…
