I am curious if anyone rides in Sportfull bibs and what the sizing I like?.
For reference in most of the American brands (Verge, Primal wear) I ride a medium.
For reference I bought some Castelli in Large a couple of years back and they were so tiny that I never used them.
I have a pair of Fiandre NoRain Light bib shorts in XS and a pair of Fiandre NoRain bibtights in S that both fit well and seem to match Sportful’s size chart. In contrast, my Castelli bib tights and bib shorts are both medium, but the shorts’ straps aren’t stretchy enough and the the chamois is supposed to be the same as the tights but cause the worst chafing, so they’re a big dud. I vastly prefer the Sportfuls.
I don’t have any Verge or Primal bibs, but my experience with American brands is that they’re always cut too loose or too short if I go based off their size chart or go one size smaller, respectively.
Castelli and Sportful are under the same corporate umbrella. Forget North American sizing, and leave your ego at the door if you’re shopping Italian. 
I generally have had to go 2-3 sizes up from North American sizing when buying Italian.
Right, I understand that, like I said I have a pair of brand new pair of Castelli bibs sitting in my closet that are so tiny…
According to the size chart on Sportful’s website I am a medium, but I have a really hard time believing that is accurate, since I wear a medium in Primal Wear, I just don’t know if I should get L or XL (though XL seems crazy), but then I have to deal with shipping it back if the size is wrong.
I find Sportful and Castelli sizing to be the same. I am a medium in most American brands, and I do a large in Sportful, and it is still on the tight side.
I would guess XL for you. Is there a local store where you could “try” the sizes on?
I haven’t tried their bibs, but Sportful’s jersey sizing seems to be the same as Castelli’s, and if that holds true for bibs size way up. I’m 6’3"/185lbs and Ive found a XXL bib works best (this is for their ‘race cut’ stuff).
I find size discussions difficult without a reference to height/weight that tells you which end of the size range people are referring to. Definitely “Italian” sizing. I am 1.78m/63kg (5’11/138lbs) and I wear L in Sportful bibs (and L or M in their jerseys (depending on race-fit vs form-fit). Despite having same owners, my experience with Castelli is that in shorts and tights, they run smaller (1/2 or full size vs Sportful --never could get on with them) In Izumi asnd PBK I wear M bibs).
