Guidance required, I have the SILCA Chain waxing system, with the Strip Chip, but are there any issues with using this on a new KMC EL chain that has their special coating DLC?
Short answer is “NO”. There’s a pretty good, although typically long, recent ZFC video showing and explaining colored/coated chains. The gist is that they are all applied post-assembly and do not get applied to the inner chain surfaces where lubrication is needed. Clean/prep chain as normal, which in your case is just adding the strip chip to the wax, and you’re good to go.
Does chain colour affect Wax lifespan? Skip to 2 minutes and just past 9 minutes in for the most relevant parts.
