Shimano ultegra 12 speed 1x conversion

Greetings master bike mechanics. I am having a hard time finding a way for my 12 speed Ultegra Di2 rear derailleur to work with a 10-42 or 10-45 cassette. Has anyone made something similar happen on their bike? Would a Wolftooth link work?

ps. I am aiming for a 40 or 42 tooth Garbaruk chainring up front.

I fitted the WT roadlink many times and the results vary depending on the exact derailleur, original hanger design and rider sensitivity for less than 100 % shifting quality. I suggest you just try it.
