Road cycling around Auckland, NZ - first time visitor looking for advice

Hi folks - business trip to Auckland planned for next week. I’ve got a weekend before meetings and a couple of days after meetings. I’ll be staying in Auckland CBD. Have a ritchey breakaway with 28s road tires that I’m traveling with, so nothing too rowdy. Would love to get out for some longer rides and prioritize scenery and exploring vs a hammer fest.

I’d sincerely appreciate any advice on where to go and what to see for a first timer to New Zealand. Looking forward to getting away from the cold Midwest for a bit and spinning outside for a change.

based on living and commuting in Auckland for a year, bring some spare tubes, you will get punctured.

Pretty city though. Most of my travels were by car though, so probably further than a bike ride away. It’s hilly, so enjoy that (Mt Eden lookout is a good spot).
