I was listening to Geek Warning and Ronan mentioned changing the bearings in some Favero Assioma pedals. I have the Duo Mx pedals and I have a squeak/creak. Should I change the bearings? Does it really take thirty seconds? It feels like the cleat, but I wanna check the bearings, too. Can somebody recommend a video?
A little more than 30 seconds but not more than a few minutes per pedal when Ive done it.
Video from EC member @GPLama is the one I followed - https://youtu.be/3vVMwvjSBeg?si=9AfT49zAQdcOti_3
It is pretty simple just make sure you buy the right overhaul kit. I’ve never opened an assioma pedal and not found it needed new bearings, so it’s probably a good idea.
I looked up the kit on Favero’s website and I am pretty sure I got the right one,but it was difficult to tell the difference on listings from other sites.
Note - some of those bearing kits say you need a special 9mm socket. If you have a Wera Tool-check Plus, or some of the Wera 1/4 sockets, the 9mm one works and fits perfectly.
Good tip on that tool. Have those at home and only the Park Ones at the shop I was last at.
The park one worked fine after a quick spin against the bench grinder
To answer the OP’s question, as others have said. These are the easiest pedals I’ve had to a service, except Looks. Which you just throw it and install new ones
