In the Road to Roubaix video posted by Lidl Trek, Mads Pederson is shown riding a blacked out bike which does not look like any of the current Trek range. I wondered if this might be a possible shot of a generation 5 Domane that is being tested.

My understanding is that the new Domane was originally to be released last year and was postponed to 2026, so could be!
New Domane is coming and this could be a prototype/pre production but it looks like a Checkmate. Hard to tell
I’m pretty sure it is/was a Checkmate. He had videos on Instagram of him riding the bike. It was early on in the recovery process so I assume he ran one to use very wide slicks to help with the injuries he had.
It’s also the same fork leg graphic as the current Checkmate, but that could also be a good way to throw us off track!
