Dirty Talks with Magalie Rochette and Lucinda Brand if you are in to cyclocross

Big plug for Colby Pearce’s Cycling in Alignment. Esp if you’re also in the why body not work right? club. Dude’s persona is a bit of an acquired taste, but he thinks deeply and broadly about fit and movement and there’s a lot of real coaching wisdom in there.

It is so good!

My favorite pods (besides EC content) are: The Domestics, La Course de Gossip, Matt Stephens Unplugged, Did Not Finish, The Race CommuniquĆ© and other Mitch Docker content like Talking Luft and Race Radio, and I’ve really enjoyed Race Chasers as well. I also do enjoy Lanterne Rouge and I particularly appreciate that Benji and Patrick create as much cycling content for the women’s peloton as for the men’s. I also listen to Never Strays Far for races like the Giro because they have typically been commentating on the race during the day and then do a sort of TdF daily checkin with details of where they are staying. I am curious to know how that’s going to evolve now that team won’t be automatically doing the Tour. This past summer I started getting hooked on the SBS daily tour podcast as well. I really enjoy those folks. I do tend to get behind on some of those pods and then jettison old episodes.

For whatever reason, the Cycling Podcast hasn’t worked for me and The Move is one I haven’t tried because I still resent Lance. I was an active engaged Lance fan in the early 2000s and he completely fucked any chance that American cycling fandom might become mainstream.

Also, the SBS pod did daily TdFFaZ pods and had some great guests like Spratty on the pod.

I like ā€œWith Paceā€ because it’s hosted by an active racer with an insider’s perspective and access to high profile guests in the world of gravel & endurance.

It took me a little while to warm up to it but I’ve really started to enjoy the Nero Show. Great banter and hot takes on aero bikes and Chinese bike brands. Cyclist Magazine podcast will have some good guests from time to time. The Eurosport Re-Cycle series is also interesting for all the cycling history that pre-dates the Spin Cycle hosts’ memory banks.

Im interested in tech and mechanical stuff, so recommendations on that would be good. I only really listen to Geek Warning and Sometimes Performance process from EC. Done a few of James Huangs N-1 which is pretty good. The latest Geek Warning with Benky was a crack-up, when I finally worked out that he wasn’t saying ā€œ1 barā€ and ā€œ2 barā€ which I thought were tire pressure references, he was saying ā€œ1 by and 2 byā€. Should have guess when he talked about riding ā€œma barkā€. I love that kind of technical deep dive for us non-pros!

Wow. Quite a list. When do you have time to work? Or ride?

LR, The Cycling Podcast, Life In The Peloton and Stanley St Social is great if you’re an Aussie but might appeal to others. Happy listening.

 I’m retired and I listen to them at night to help me get to and stay asleep. I obviously don’t listen to the really interesting ones because that has the opposite effect.

Yes! So, so good!

Not quite a ringing endorsement for the pods on your list… unless you have trouble falling asleep… which is precisely why I’m going to check them out. Thanks!

I 2nd this.

What was the one mentioned in the pod this week? I tried to make a mental note (I was driving) but I’m a post menopausal semi alcoholic so nothing sticks unless I write it down

I kind of like the Velo Podcast. I don’t like Outside, But I do like Mike Levy.

I wish that Escape could have recruited (poached?) him while he was in hiatus.
