Can we talk about how insanely bad the NBC coverage is? Phil is basically wrong at least 50% of the time, wrong town, wrong rider name, wrong team, wrong country. Bob pretty much just spends 4 hours correcting him. The in-studio team has the clunkiest POS graphic table thing that they are forced to work with at every break from the live coverage - Bret B. just basically sliding things around and rolling his eyes…and don’t get me started on Steve Parino. Just unwatchable. If you can’t VPN to European coverage it’s just SO painful. I wish they would put Christian VDV in Phil’s position.

I feel your pain. May I suggest VPN/Canada/FloBike. Anthony McCrossan and Nico Roche are engaging, articulate, and know when to let the action unfold. The advertisements are split screen and silent so the action just unfolds.

RE: Peacock: Sounds like you caught everybody on a good day. 
Phil has always been pretty far off but he is not without charm. While not perfect, Paul really was a comparative joy. Bob’s great for stories but if he’s the source of truth and accuracy, there are some problems in reality. The commercials are much of the broadcast. It’s hard I always listen to the Cycling Dane or Final KM on YT. Right now I only have access to the US feed.

Sorry, I didn’t realize until todays podcast that Steve P. is a “friend of the pod” - maybe he’s okay, maybe he could be a lot better if NBC wasn’t generally shit. Christian VDV - is really the only keeper out of the whole bunch IMO (but he’s pretty great).

Perino is SOOO much better than when he started. I think he came over from motor sports, so he was hilariously off all the time back then. Thankfully, the boy is able to learn and has come a long way. When they manage to get Jens on the bike it’s better.

Although listening to Christian VDV throughout every stage would make the NA Tour viewing experience even worse. Up until two years ago, Peacock offered the international feed. At least we could enjoy Anthony and Nicholas’ coverage.

The other option for viewing good coverage in the US is a VPN and checking into SBS in Australia. Grey commentary and it is free (but you will get ads).

As an Australian I have to admit I struggle with Keenan and his artistic tendencies. I like the others though.

If you watched the 4 part series on Phil you might have a bit more grace and respect. He was a pioneer in the medium and has forgotten more cycling knowledge than you will ever know.

Oh he was great. I loved him during the Lance era - but now, yes, he has forgotten a great deal.
I’ve watched Phil longer than most fans….i viewed him in his heyday and been witness to his decline.
I can recognize and praise his past greatness while still being critical of his current abilities. He has not been anywhere near the top of his game for well over 15 years and, combined with the water he carried for -7, he only sullies his legacy now.
I’ll gladly take Keenan over the clown show at Peacock in the US.
