MTB shoe covers?

Hi, any recommendations for mtb shoe covers? I am after something to keep the worst of the mud and water off my summer shoes in wet summer/autumn/spring riding. Nothing neoprene, I have some any they too warm.

I think I am after a reasonably durable water resistant cover.

For cold / winter riding I have some amazing northwave boots.

Thanks

I’ve used the Giyo toe covers with great results. They are super cheap through AliExpress. You can buy them in a pack of multiples and don’t worry about throwing and replacing after they get worn out. I’m not sure about the full covers but the toe ones are just the right thickness. I just can’t bring myself to spend lots of money on a MTB cover that will possibly get torn up after just a short ride. Honestly the cheap Giyo ones are more durable than name brands.

Thanks, my first Ali express purchase! Avoided them so far but for something that will get trashed quickly anyway I’ll give it a go.

Yeah, MTB covers will get destroyed from walking in no time since you are actually walking on the cover itself unlike especially toe covers with road cleats (the tip goes first). I have had some shoe covers with proper rubber on the sole part (Rose house brand, no idea if still available) that held up for years, though.

For wet gravel riding, I use some cheap covers, not water proof or insulating. Both for summer shoes and winter boots. Basically just a shell and I dont mind the bottom becomes a bit teared up, the shell effect on top still works.

I use VeloToze covers - effective, light and do not add much “thickness” to shoe and hence avoids crank / chain stay rub, but they are not overly durable if any walking involved!
