Amazing! What’s the story behind it?
How about turning that into a Visma style beach towel? Hey @Jonny_Long, would you be up for collaborating on this to get it into the Escape Merch catalogue.

met in the press bus at flanders. I said hi. This shot was my first big break. I was working with metaltek as my first in to cycking. This was taken at 2017 Cicle classic. Bit like trobeo. Its finishes in Melton. Metaltek is own by a local business man called Andy Swain so a big deal to win it. So i have pieced together what may have happened. The other rider is hayden Mccomack riding for one pro at the time. The winning rider is Dan fleeman who is a ds now at canyon women’s team. The broke away and a deal was offered if you let me win i give you the prize money. Dan who had both knees broken at one point say to himself no way or words to that face. Hayden ask him are you going to sprint. Dan heard or so he said are you a sprinter so dan said no. So 300m from the line dan sprinted to victory. Hayden showed him his well done sign. Matt Wilson gave the 2nd place price money away to charity. Hayden in fairness now has this photo on his wall. I was with dan at last years womens pr. Two british fans walked up to dan and remembered his win and that picture. They looked at me and said your Gary Main you took that photo. No quiet Chris Aulds photo but with the cicle classic this weekend my sort off break though photo. I also know what dan said and i will let you know off line. So if your free this weekend you maybe get yourself down to Melton
Haha I remember this, iconic. Easy mistake to make in the finale… “Can you sprint” vs “will you sprint” or something like that. Glad Hayden sees the lighter side of it now.
Great days of the UK scene, multiple conti teams and One Pro as pro conti turning up to races in proper team busses.
Finally getting to race Rutland this weekend, will be pleased if I’m anywhere near the finish line photo.
The photo makes you wonder what F&F really stands for!
Yes!! very much so!
