I just pickedup a one piece Roval Rapide handelbar-stem and some new SupaCaz bar tape. I’ve never had a one piece bar before and I’m not sure how far I want to wrap the bar tape.
How do far do you folks like to go? Just to the hoods or all the way up?
If you look closely at the bar tops, just a little behind the hoods, you’d notice a slightly raised contour. That ridge is where the bartape should end.
That said, they’re nothing stopping you from ending the bartape closer to the stem, if you’re the sort to ride with your hands on the tops, for a little more comfort.
It’s really up to you. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Function over form..
I have the same bar, I got half way up the bumpy bit as I find it comfortable.
