Helmet safe glue

I have a Giro scamp helmet for my toddler, we’ve had it for about 3mths and it’s been great, awesome bright colour, fits really well, get loads of comments from people around town etc.

Sadly the cradle keeps pulling out of the holes inside the shell, it’s about to go back for inspection under warranty, but I fear this is a design flaw and will probably happen again with a replacement as the cradle seems to be held into the shell only by friction. I’m wondering if it would be easier to glue the cradle into the sockets in the shell, but conscious I will need to be careful with the kind of glue on the foam. Would hot-melt from a glue gun be a good solution, as long as it’s not too hot? Otherwise some kind of contact adhesive that doesn’t eat into the foam?

I’d probably talk to Giro first to see about any solutions or getting the helmet replaced under warranty.

I’m already doing that, the helmet is on its way back to them as we speak. However I do expect that even with a replacement, this is a design flaw and will likely happen again over time. I’m looking for solutions to prevent a never-ending cycle of warranty replacements, especially given that the other aspects of this helmet are so good.

Hopefully you’ve just been unlucky here - I have had two of these helmets in action for the last couple of years and neither have them have ever shown signs of this
