Gravel Bike Rental - NZ South Island, January

We’re off to New Zealand for a tour of the South Island at the end of the week. I’m currently mildly unwell with advice not to exercise - I’m reluctant to take my own bike with us in case it doesn’t get used because of that, but I will be taking kit in the hope that I can rent something over there if and when I improve.

I’m yet to start my research, but alongside that I figured I might as well ask here too.

Stops include Franz Joseph, Wanaka, Teanu, Queenstown, Mount Cook, Lake Tekapo & Christchurch - anyone know if I’d be able to hire a gravel bike (or mountain bike, or even a road bike at a push) from any of those locations?

I don’t know anything about these guys, but there does seem to be an online cost thingo.

Alternatively, Goat Cycles in Christchurch are a really good crowd and would most definitely point you in the right direction.

Just back. Updating in case of future interest:

Looks like Outside Sports are the company to go to if you’re on the lookout for a gravel bike on NZ’s South Island. I hired a Giant Revolt in Queenstown and rode a lovely 50km loop out to Arrowtown via a set of really well signposted gravel paths. I’d estimate a solid 80% of the route was gravel too, so genuinely a ‘gravel ride’, and not a ‘road ride with gravel sections’.
