How come there’s no English coverage on the Mexican National championships this weekend? I’m listening to the Spanish podcast… my Spanish is poor, but I figured it out and I spend a lot of time in Ensenada and would have liked to have known about this week.
Well what coverage were you expecting? I think not only can the average English language cycling fan not name one Mexican rider besides del Toro, the average English language cycling journalist could not name one Mexican rider besides del Toro. So all they could do is list off the results, which is precisely what PCS has done.
It was mentioned in yesterday’s Spin Cycle: Spin Cycle: A different kind of Bora
I have not gotten to it yet I’m usually a day behind in pods.
Hi David, I also like following LATAM racing — rarely covered by the English-speaking cycling press, despite producing a relatively large amount of talent that feeds into Pro and WT teams.
Not sure if you saw this, it was released post-event. It’s only the last 2+ hours of the Mexico elite national championship, so it doesn’t contain the breakaway selection. But does contain the race-winning move and full commentary from riders at the end.
I’ll have to watch that later. Thanks
