Hi all! Does anyone have any experience with the Coros Dura cycling computer? I’ve heard some pretty impressive claims on battery life, but understand from the early reviews by DC Rainmaker and the like that it had a long way to go software wise.
Just wondering if anyone has any long term or more recent experience with this unit?
Thanks!

I got one over the summer, when my OG Wahoo ELMNT’s battery finally died completely. With the caveat that so far I’ve only used it on day rides, not multi-day trips, I like it very much. I feel pretty strongly that the reviews that were written prior to this summer’s firmware updates are out of date to the point of misleading.
Battery life is great. The screen is legible. Moving among screens and functions via touch screen or the knob & button is straightforward. There is a lot of flexibility about what gets displayed and how. Alert sounds are audible while riding, and can also play though Bluetooth headphones (I use Shokz).
Navigation works fine. I gather that rerouting requires a connected smartphone and cell signal, but I turn off auto rerouting anyway, also on my Wahoo - I just want the device to tell me I’m off route, and I typically download the relevant maps into my smartphone map apps (Google and/or Apple Maps) and RideWithGPS.
I use mine with an Wahoo HRM strap and a 4iii power meter. The only accessory I have that I think it doesn’t work with is a Specialized Angi crash sensor, but the Dura has a crash sensor function itself (which I haven’t triggered or tested yet).

I got one a few weeks ago. So far, I much prefer it over my old Garmin 530. User interface is better, I like the wheel, the app wasn’t designed in 2003. No major bugs but I have no sensors and frankly found the 530 to be very buggy. Battery life is great, the effect of solar obviously depends on the amount of direct sunlight but I can see how I would not need to charge at all even on weeklong bikepacking trips. I also have had a Coros Pace for years and have been very happy with it.

Battery life is good. Partly so because the CPU of the Dura is severely under powered. This show mostly in navigation. The maps have very little detail compared to Garmin or Wahoo e.g. no street names, zooming and rotating is very slow and rerouting is offloaded to the cellphone. The cellphone does need to have a working internet connection and the rerouting will take you down gravel road even if you are on a roadbike.
I figured it had been long enough for some of the early kinks to have been resolved, but good to know about routing. Considering it for long distance, so might be worth the compromise. Thanks!
