Collective-Favourites - Socks!

I’ve tested a ton of the socks out on the market namely as a runner, and after an injury, on a lot of cycling hours.

  • Courier HiFi: feel good, don’t wear as well as Swiftwick. Less branding  high compression
  • Swiftwick Maxus: the least logo rich Swiftwick sock, cushy, not actually for cycling but I have enough room in my shoes and I love these
  • Swiftwick Aspire: stretchy, soft, great for run and ride.
  • Pop Cycling: looks like a ribbed sock, feels like the Swiftwick aspire. Good if you’re in the UK, as they’re not cheap.
  • Fingers Crossed Aero: super thin, comfy enough. I wear these more for the pattern on them than the aero. I don’t love that I can feel their logo stitched over the arch. Mine got gray pretty quick, probably due to the grid pattern on them.
  • Tracksmith Speed Crew: I have these from running but they’re a high compression ultra thin sock that’s a good length. The locker loop detail is nice as well.

Just grabbed a pair! Will share how they feel once they arrive

I am probably going to get roasted for this but have bought fake Rapha socks off of Aliexpress and I find them to be great. Cost $2-3 per pair and feel and last as long as any $25 sock out there.

IMO most “cycling” socks are overpriced - you definitely pay for the logos, and the bright colours that stain rapidly. I’d rather wear appropriate height lightweight merino hiking socks in dark colours, thanks very much. I also tend to have socks wear out around the heel area, but for me socks are socks so are not used only on the bike.
