Don’t like Bezos so buy direct from China?

Well… Gray areas aside, many things on Amazon come from China, and many are also ordered by drop shippers or wholesalers from Aliexpress. So you’re sending money to China either way, but one path also adds a margin for Bezos on top.

I finally managed to get a couple of Lezyne ABS Flex hoses with Clik heads for our Lezyne road hand pumps.
To my utter amazement and frustration, Lezyne saw fit to redesign the other end of the hose so it is no longer a presta valve head, as it is on all their otherwise identical hoses and hence they didn’t provide the pump thread on the end of the clik head either.
They already had the basic design with presta and schraeder compatibility - WTF didn’t they just use the same presta end piece and tap the external thread on the Clik end??? 
For the sake of tapping 2 threads, which they already do on their other hoses, this hose manages to lose any possible presta valve compatibility, so we have to carry another spare presta hose if we want to allow for unforeseen problems.
As we’re about to head to Japan for ~3 months, I will be carrying the spare presta/schraeder hose just in case.
FFS, I could even fix it myself if I had the correct thread taps…

To prove my point that it’s a problem that Lezyne dropped the presta compatibility from these clik hoses - less than 24hrs after I got the new hose, and only ~15kms into my first ride with it, my ride buddy asked if he could borrow my pump ‘cos his mini electric pump was flat. 
He ended up flattening TWO mini electric pumps by the end of the ride due to a persistent slow leak even after installing a tube in his tubeless tyre.
I now have moved the original presta / schraeder hose that I took out of my pump and put in my pannier yesterday, and put it in my saddlebag just so I can deal with unforeseen chaos.
If only Lezyne had simply kept their existing double ended hose design. Thanks Lezyne.
Yikes! Thanks for posting this. I was definitely going to buy a couple of these hoses, but I’ll probably just stick to my current solution of sticking a presta-click adapter on the end of the normal Lezyne hose (or adapter in the saddle bag if the pump is mounted on the bike).

Maybe you should only carry the Clik Valve so when your friend asks to borrow your electice pump you can say sorry, it’s not compatible

I actually carry a spare hose with a presta-compatible head for those (not mine) road side punctures. I’m all about being that nosy stranger rider rocking up and offering help, even when you just want to be left alone to work the puncture…

I don’t carry an electric pump - which is why my buddy wanted to borrow my hand pump.

Glad it’s not just me that assumed the new hose would have the same double ended features as the old ones.

Semi-devil’s advocacy here- would it be better if Lezyne didn’t offer the hoses separately, so your only choice is to buy a whole new pump or add the adapter to your existing pump?
With that said, I’d agree that it seems like they dropped the ball on that hose - in addition to the issue you’ve found, also:
- The shorter hose will probably be more prone to the core breakage problem that PLP and others have had
- I assume the existing rubber cap isn’t long enough to cover the Clik head, so it’s just exposed to collect gunk. (Maybe I’m wrong?)
Tiny loss for Lezyne as I’d probably buy another pump (so I can stop moving the one I have from bike to bike) if they made the ‘native’ Clik ones in anything other than the “compact” design plus get conversion hoses for the pumps I already own.
Maybe I can print a TPU cap that would allow me to store the adapter on the pump/hose, on the bike…
It’s been a bit since I read through the whole conversation, has anyone here tried any of the ‘native’ Clik CO2 heads? Only seeing the Clik and Lezyne ones currently, most of the ones I own are Presta Thread-On so using the adapter won’t work (but I have found they will work just pressed onto the valve…)
I have this Clik CO2 head from Clik themselves. It works very well.

I think this is also a missed opportunity for those using Clik valves but wind up using an emergency tube with non-removable Presta core.

I just got the Lezyne Clik hose to use with my Road Drive. The rubber cap can cover the port on the Clik head and does have a firm grip. It’s a little stretched, though. Lezyne’s photos of their Clik Drive pumps imply they have a variant of the cap with a longer tether that accommodates the taller Clik head, but there are also images of the same product where the cap is stretched. This image from YouTube basically shows how the cap looks on my pump.

I’ve just made the switch to Clik and will just leave my experience here as a data point.
- My Silca Pista track pump (press-on presta head) works well without an adapter, except the guage doesn’t register the pressure until it’s pumped once or twice and you don’t get that satisfying click. You also need to make the 6-7 psi adjustment as mentioned earlier in this thread
- My Silca gravelero (lever lock head) works well without an adapter
- My Birzman CO2 inflater head (non threaded) works well as-is. In fact I used it to seat 48c Tufo Thunderos on DT Swiss spline G 1800s through the clik valve and it did it on less than a cylinder each. That’s never worked for me with a presta valve in the past - I’ve always had to remove the core.

To my surprise, the original cap does actually reach over the end of the clik hose end, so they didn’t mess that bit up!

It seems like the thread to fit the outlet of a Lezyne hand pump is M11 x 0.8. The OD of the Clik head is 11mm. I’m tempted to tap mine, but there’s not a great place for an O-ring either on the end of the Clik head or inside the pump outlet to seal in pressure.
Somebody at Lezyne must have bought a giant pile of M11x0.8 stuff at a screaming deal or something - thinking about trying to build something to hold the standard chuck for my Lezyne floor pump(s) while the Clik chuck is on (or vice versa) so I reached out to them about the threading there - same (pretty unique?) thread there.
It just occurred to me that you could combine a Presta-to-Schrader adapter and a Shrader-to-Clik adapter with the Lezyne Clik hose to cover all three valve types. The adapters fit inside the bore of a Lezyne hand pump alongside the hose (depending on the size of the hand pump).

I made a simple adapter to use a Schwalbe/SKS Clik adapter on an electric pump. Many brands use the black extension tube (picture), if your pump uses this tube, this will work! This also keeps the Presta compatibility, simply unscrew it. Feel free to remix it to a different thread.
