As well as jumping on the Paul Seixas hype train I’m have also jumped on to Clik Valve hype train.
I just received it last night and installed them on my road bike. I got the ones that come with the screw on pump head adapter and it fit on my Prestaflator Digital inflator with no problems.
Mine came with the rubbery caps I really don’t like the looks of them. Is anyone running them without caps? They seem a bit more fragile than screwed down presta valves.
I’ve had my for a few months now and have changed all my bikes, wheels and pumps I’m all in! I ordered a set of the aluminium valve caps from America, there much better and include a valve removal tool and a deflator bump, they were good enough to send me an extra pack of the old generation caps, which didn’t have deflator bump for free which softened the £14 postage charge for an £8 item
The aluminum caps available from Clik are nice and reasonably priced. I only keep one on either the front or rear just so I have an easy to access valve core removal tool, as well as a way to let off pressure if needed.
I made the jump despite a considerable investment. 5 pumps (3 floor pumps, 1 compressor and 1 mini compressor) and then 5 bikes. I did it gradually but once I had it on 1 bike and 1 pump, i was hooked. It’s so much better. I haven’t had any sealant gunk clogging yet but I’m trying to be careful about that.
I loved them enough to swap about a dozen pairs of wheels over about 6 months ago.
I’ve had one valve snap (which I think had been addressed as a known issuer) and two valves fail to hold air. Our gravel here is like diamond silt grinding paste so after a winter of that 3 dead valves is a great result!
