News broke earlier today of the passing of Charlie Cunningham. Even if you never heard of him, Cunningham’s innovations for MTBs were massively impactful in the early days of the sport. Lightweight aluminum frames with sloping top-tubes, 135mm rear spacing, roller-cam brakes, extra-low gearing, and extra light components. Perhaps on your next MTB ride think of Charlie and his contributions.

Absolute legend and mountain bikes would not be what they are today without his contributions / innovations.
I was unaware of the health difficulties he had faced since a crash in 2015….heartbreaking.
