Does anybody have any experience updating firmware on an older Quarq Dfour spider power meter? Here is my predicament. I recently picked up a used Quarq spider power meter from eBay for cheap. I am able to connect to the device via Bluetooth on the Sram AXS app, and the device is showing it is on firmware version 4 and that the latest firmware is version 10. When I try to update the firmware, The app just sits there with a spinning circle and never completes the install. I’ve tried all kinds of things to fix it: I pulled the battery and let it sit for about 10 minutes; installed a brand new battery; I’ve removed and re-added the device in the Sram App; I’ve rebooted my phone; and I’ve tried using the Sram AXS app on a different device. After some searching on the web, I’ve even downloaded the old Qalvin legacy software from Sram to connect the power meter to my laptop using an ANT+ USB dongle. The Qalvin software connects to the device, and when I used the diagnostic function the power meter tested fine. Unfortunately there was no option to update firmware via the Qalvin software. The power meter’s serial number is AGA62567. When I plug that into Sram’s website, Sram tells me the power meter is a model PM-D4-A1. In the Sram AXS app it lists the power meter model as PM-DZ-A1. I’m not sure if that is significant or not. I’m at a loss on how to udpate the firmware. Anybody ever experience a similar issue?
Well I figured it out and was able to update to the latest firmware. I found this video on youtube, and using a magnet was able to get the power meter to start in some sort of boot load state which allowed me to update the firmware. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMAw46HfdnA

You keep calling it a spindle power meter, but isn’t it a spider?
yes. I corrected my post.
