Can you Widen Stance (Q Factor) on Assioma Pro's) by more than 2mm?

Hey guys,

I want to experiment with a wider stance, like 10-15mm. Wondering if there’s any feasible way to do this with the Assioma’s while not compromising the power accuracy?

Thanks

Just get pedal spacers, effectively thick washers that sit between the crank arm and the pedal axle. Most of the threaded part of the pedal axle still threads into the crank, so you’re okay there.

I think these are a standard bike fitter tactic for widening stance for people who need it.

And I think it shouldn’t affect power readings.

Favero’s FAQ for Assioma Pro pedals answers this exact question:

Assioma PRO must not be used with pedal extenders, crank shorteners, or any accessories that alter the crank arm setup, as they may cause damage. However, crank arm protectors are an exception and can be used without issue.

For optimal radio communication, the plastic end of the spindle (threaded side), which houses the LED and antenna, must extend at least 1 mm beyond the crank arm thread, making crank arms thicker than 15 mm in the threaded area unsuitable.

This requirement cannot be met in crank arms without a pass-through hole, as obstruction would hinder signal transmission.

It’s also likely using extenders would result in erroneous power readings (likely reading low, I think).

Alas, that was my fear.

Thank you.
