Burgh - Bar Tape

Product Type: Bar Tape

Product Brand: Burgh

Product Model: Saint Cloud Edition

Product Size: N/A

Tester Details: N/A

Overview: Have used Burgh bar tape multiple times on road, cx and gravel.

Pros: Burgh’s tapes look fantastic, are super comfy and easy to clean. They have a wide variety of designs to suit different builds. This includes some fairly flashy designs through to more stealthy and subtle. I also appreciate that they’re an Aussie company.

Cons: The tape is on the higher-end of the price bracket. Apparently it can be hard to remove but I’ve left that to my bike shop most of the time.

have you ever used Enve or Supercaz? if so how does it compare?
with the member discount I’m strongly considering giving it a try.

I have Supacaz on my road bike presently. It’s a lot thinner than Burgh tape which feels more plush and cushioned.

My current road bike has aero bars with bare tops and the thinner tape kinda works there. But I’ve used Burgh on all my previous road bikes and my current gravel bike.

I’ve used Supacaz for as long as I can remember. Tried Burgh recently and I’m a convert. I found Burgh a little more plush than Supacaz and with a nicer/softer hand feel. It’s pretty durable too, wearing out now after about 15k km on my road bike I’d guess. Need to change my Supacaz on gravel bike soon and I’m planning to switch to Burgh using the discount.

oh good point—I also have bare top enve AR so maybe cush wouldn’t be a good thing for that

I’ve used Fizik microtex since for ever. I’ve found it to be really durable and to hold in place excellently. The wrapping was kind too. I’ve used other brands a few times (not on my best bike!) and always been a little disappointed in comparison. I can highly recommend.

Burgh with silicone is my current favorite and what I’ve been recommending to people lately!

I have Burgh on my gravel bike, Enve on my road and I’ve wrapped lots of supercaz. Burgh is more plush in feeling. This was their classic tape. I know they do an endurance one now too. The Enve tape is as comfy but has more texture so feels more grippy. Never got on with supercaz, it’s rigid to wrap which means it doesn’t fit as snug and its stiffness doesn’t lead to a comfortable feel.

You can’t go wrong with either Burgh or Enve. Both premium tapes that feel great. Enve tape can apparently be re wrapped 3 times. Mine still looks good as new

Burgh on everything. Can’t go wrong.

Tape looks good, with lots of interesting patterns. Have been trying to find a replacement for some tape with a chequered flag design that was on a 1970s Harry Quinn I am restoring to race on. Can’t find any brand with this, which seems strange as it’s such an obvious pattern. Anyone know of one I’ve missed?
