10 speed 2x road crankset options

I have a bike in the shop that I need a 10-speed road crank set for. I’m trying to avoid the customer having to pay $150 for a Tiagra crankset, but I’m not seeing a ton of options. I have two questions:

  1. Has anyone tried a Shimano 10-speed chain on a CUES crankset? I know that crank is designed for an 11-speed/link Glide chain, but I’m just wondering if I could get away running a 10-speed chain on it.
  2. Anybody aware of some cheap 10-speed crank options available from a distributor in the US?

Wouldn’t the 11sp chain work on the 10sp groupset and CUES chainset?

I’ve used a 11sp chain on customers 10sp groupsets when it was difficult to source chains (Covid)

@Aidan_Rhodes, have you looked at Shimano’s compatibility chart yet? Page C-440 is probably what you’re after.
