Wahoo Speedplay - Older generation user looking to try again

Same here. Keeping my old Zeros regularly greased so they will go the distance!

I’ve done the same, sadly it’s the plastic bodies that wear away over time and become more of a dome than flat :frowning:

All my Wahoo pedals end up the same: the body somehow gets a few mm loose after 5-6 months or so (yes, I ride a lot). I ended up buying another pair so I have one on hand and switch when I send the others for warranty. Said warranty was always swift, assured by distributor in Canada within a couple of weeks or so (through my local bike shop). It’s a shame they closed the system so they cannot be serviced by a tech or myself. That kind of problem could easily be delt with in the Speedplay era. Bearings seem to be better though.

As a previous user of Speedplay pedals around 20 odd years ago I found after a period the pedals weren’t very good overall. I initially purchased them too for more freedom with my knees but in the end I moved back to TIME pedals (XPRO now) as they had a better platform/interface with the cleat and pedal body and did not have that spinning/pivot feeling the Speedplays had, but still had the freedom for the knees.

I can’t comment on the Wahoo versions but my previous experience might be of assistance?

I’m using 2 pairs of originals and 2 pairs of Wahoos across my fleet. No problems with anyone of them :ok_hand:
