Wahoo Bolt V3 Music Control

Music control is the one feature I really wanted ever since I first got into cycling and purchased a head unit. I was stoked when it came out on my bolt v2 but it never worked reliably and I can’t figure out why.

Half the time, it just never appeared as a screen. When it did appear, it would display what I was last listening to when I turned on the head unit, but it wouldn’t switch to what I was currently listening to. So, if I was listening to a podcast on Spotify, it would appear when I turned on the head unit. When I actually started the ride and put on my riding playlist, the screen would still show the podcast, effectively making it a useless screen. It’s like whenever I listen to something different then what I was listening to when I turned on the head unit, the screen wont update

I recently upgraded from the bolt v2 to the v3 and was hoping this issue would be fixed but the same thing is happening. I wanted to see if anyone has had this issue and found a way around it or if I’m doing something wrong.

Have you tried changing to a playlist with songs only from pre-2006?

(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)

I have a bolt. I think it’s v2. The music controls suck. Best case scenario is to have Spotify running when I turn on the bolt, and then only control volume, etc, from the head unit. Even then it sometimes gets stuck. I’ve been round and round w wahoo on this, with several cycles of re boot reinstall yarda yada until finally they gave up and said it’s. A problem they are working on. Lame.
