Undefeated Champions at Specific Tasks Appreciation Thread

Here’s a thread all about those workshop tools that are just the best ever at one specific thing. I used to hate bottle cage bolts in some bottle cages. Just no way to reliably get something in there to run the threads of the bolts and I was always fiddling with hex keys that didn’t quite fit. THat was until I came across this little beaut:

What a splendid little device for getting the bolts in/out of your frame.

Lets hear what your champion tools are.

(Oh, and if someone can tell me what that tool is called I’d be grateful)

The park tool pin spanners are fantastic for holding bar tape while you are wrapping it and need to let go of the tape. I use it on aero and round bars and works well on both. Very niche and specific use but surprisingly useful

Now THAT is what I’m talking about

A 1/2” socket extension, cut into pieces roughly 106mm and 98mm long. Insert into a Cannondale hollowtech crank axle (after removing the retaining crank bolt) so you can use any standard crank puller, like the Park Tool CWP-7, to remove Cannondale cranks.

The two lengths are needed for the difference width axles.
