It’s time for me to replace my 2007 roubaix. It served with distinction. I’m really leaning toward an x-lab rs7. I’m torn because it seems like there should be a catch that goes with so much bike for $2100 but it checks so many boxes (I balance longer weekend rides with bike commuting on the same bike and splitting duties is not something I will consider). Any thoughts pro or con?

The price point is intriguing and I don’t have much reason to doubt the quality. Have you verified the geometry would work for you? It’s not a match for me.
I am going to test ride one soon but I wanted to ask first because I fear that if it feels even moderately good, the price point will be so compelling that I’ll be unable to resist the impulse to commit
It’s going to be a lot longer and lower than the Roubaix. It’s actually longer and lower than the Tarmac I believe. Give it a shot, but unless you were riding that Roubaix slammed with a negative 17 degree stem, it’s a little hard to imagine it will fit well.
This is the bummer about the current generation of seemingly good Chinese bikes; the are too low stack for most of us. 
Hopefully that changes soon.

Couldn’t agree more! I went and had a look at a RS7 Large for a friend and the geometry and integrated bar/stem made little sense for most cyclists. And the internal routing of cables will likely add to service expense down the road on the $2,100 mechanical version. The Di2 version at $2,800 is probably a better option if one can afford to pay the extra $700 up front and reduce internal cable-related service down the road. It’s an impressive package for sure, but caveat emptor on that geometry.
