I’m looking to buy a gen1 tern gsd and want to know people’s favourite accessories and those to avoid.
I already have one Thule maxi seat and will be buying another seat and maybe a front basket. Anyone have preferred seats, batteries or accessories? And which accessories to avoid?
The Thule seats are great when the kids are really young, but we ditched them for the clubhouse as soon as our youngest was old enough to be out of the seat. We regularly
We have the transporteur rack and the weathertop cooler on there all the time. It is nice to have a big bag to hold helmets, sweaters, etc…in addition to shopping.
We found the panniers annoying when carrying kids so don’t have them on the bike.
We have n Elevation Lab AirTag holder on the Tern for piece of mind.
I have the front rack, and the clubhouse. It was a bit of a pain for the kids to get on/off once they were 10+, but the key thing for me is that the clubhouse and front rack are sized to take take euro crates, which are nice sturdy boxes.
Have the panniers, and footplate runners to help support them, which combined are fantastic for carrying lots of stuff, but they are an absolute pain to get on and off, so just stay on.
