Love Julbo Fury Photochromatic for cycling in all light conditions and for Nordic skiing day and night (when I still cover my eyes because I work out with a group and poles are flying). They’re especially well ventilated and resistant to fogging.

Use the same lens. It’s brilliant. Or if changeable, the photochromic or the Prizm road lens which is like a red tinge.

Few brands come close to Julbo, but as far as what I have tried (Smith and Tifosi), nothing quite matches Julbo.

The cat 0-3 especially is amazing. For early or all-day rides, they are the only ones that get perfectly clear and dark enough.

I’ve ridden them on long brevet in the Alps, with 4am pitch black start and 11pm pitch black finish, under very sunny July conditions with an afternoon mountain top downpour… didn’t take them off once.

Another vote for photochromics. I’ve used both Oakley and Roka. I wouldn’t mind if they got a little darker in bright light, but they’re fine. And they’re near enough to fully clear that they’re fine for night riding.

Another vote for Julbo! I’ve used julbo, smith, and oakley photochromics and Julbo is noticeably the best. The density are the best frame for road and the 0-3 is perfect for everywhere but the desert. The fury 0-3 gets a little darker and has a more robust frame that seems better for mountain biking.

I just got a pair of Glade Optics Dash which came with rose-tinted photochromatic lenses as well as a set of clear lenses. My first pair of photochromatic glasses. After limited use, I’m impressed. The optical clarity is quite good, they resist fogging well, and the lens responds well to changing light conditions. I haven’t yet noticed the light transmission changing, which I guess is the point. My longest ride in them was Sunday during the VT50 mountain bike race, which was disgusting weather. Used the clear lenses for that since it was either 100% cloud cover or fully raining the whole time. Switching lenses is easy. I think the Julbos (which I’ve tried) are the best option irrespective of cost, but for less than $100 Glades seem awfully good.

I use (prescription) photochromic lenses. They are great since it’s not infrequent that I do rides that start in very different light conditions than they finish in.

I love my Oakley Prizm Trail Torch lenses for low light and tree canopy. I also wear them for all-day rides that have full sun.
