I was updating my firmware. The two shift levers went smoothly. The derailleur (SRAM XX1 AXS 1x) update froze. I followed the troubleshooting routine of removing the battery, force close the AXS app, cycle bluetooth on my phone. I managed to get to a recovery required message. The derailleur no matter what I do flashes green rapidly. I have recharged the battery to 100%, repeated all the reset steps many times, removed the bike from the app garage and replaced it. The app sees the components. It recognizes and communicates with the shifters. For the derailleur, the app says restoration required but all it does is endlessly spin and the derailleur light keeps flashing green.
Our SRAM warranty rep seriously suggested trying to use a different phone to finish the update, preferably an Android one. If you tried every reset procedure you could find with no luck, warranty it.
Thanks. I’ll look for a friend with an Android. Unfortunately I’m out of warranty
Even if it’s out of warranty, I’d still reach out to SRAM.

How long did you leave the battery off the derailleur? My RD once bricked itself (outside of an update). And I left the battery off over night, allowing it to completely discharge. Next morning put the battery back on and it was working again.
Thanks. I did try about 20 hours with the battery off. Unfortunately it’s still stuck on a flashing green light. I wrote tech support and will hopefully hear back soon.
