Shimano Di2 105 grinding Propel 2019 chainstay / solved!

I fitted a 12s Di2 105 to my 2019 Propel Advanced 2 Disc that was originally running on a mechanical 11s 105.

I had to go all in with the set screw of the derailleur for an acceptable distance between upper pulley and the cassette
Now on the smallest cog it still is not enough distance to prevent the chain touching the chainstay.
it seems like the derailleur hanger is a just a shy to short for the pulley to be far enough away when being as far out as the 12th cog.
My impression is the shimano 12s on a 11s hub compatibility with the flanged on 12th cog is just too far out for this frame.

Anyone had such experience or knows solutions? e.g. longer (aftermarket) hanger?

What casette are using? 11-36 or 11-34?

Is your chain the correct length?

Uploading a picture of the whole bike/rear half from the side would help.

Is there a spacer behind the cassette that can be removed?

Shortening the chain may help. You can test this by gathering up the chain at the chainring to simulate removing a link or two. Be sure you are in the smallest cog of your cassette. If that pulley wheel drops, this may be a solution. Before you cut the chain though, shift it into the biggest cog while on the big chainring (cross chain), then see if there is still slack in the derailleur to move the bottom of the cage forward. This is just to make sure you have β€œroom” to shorten the chain.

And if all else fails, a Wolf Tooth Roadlink will definitely give you enough clearance.

Wolf Tooth RoadLink Derailleur Hanger Extension – Wolf Tooth Components

Hello everyone,
Thank you very much for your help. The bike belongs to a friend. When I forwarded him the request to take a photo, he realised that the link that comes with the derailleur is incorrectly positioned on the derailleur hanger. So that clears things up. Thank you very much anyway.
