Rotor’s new electronic group set: reviews?

Fwiw, here was my exchange with WheelTop about this setup (I am somewhat embarrassed about the poor quality of my video, but so be it!):

WheelTop Shifter Setup Question - Support Exchange

Original Question

From: Andy Reagan

Hi,

I’ve been trying to have the following setup. The app doesn’t seem to be able to stay in the setting to push to the shifters. Is this setup possible:

  • Left shifter rear +
  • Right shifter big paddle rear -
  • Right shifter smaller (front) paddle for front shift

If this is possible, can you detail how to do it in the app?

Thanks,
-Andy

Hello,

To clarify, did you make the settings adjustments in the “Preferences” section of the app?

Additionally, would it be possible for you to record a short video showing the issue you’re experiencing? A visual reference would be extremely helpful for our technical team to identify and resolve the problem more efficiently.

We appreciate your support and look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Jane

Hi Dave, how far out is the review from being finalised, do you reckon?

Any further real world feedback on this now it’s been around for a bit?

@Dave_Rome, any more info come to light in terms of how close to WheelTop it is?

FYI for those curious about cassette capacity, the Rotor site says 46t. That’s fine for me.

I believe the fundamental electronics/design are shared across the two brands. Rotor is then given a more premium face, with nicer materials and finishing. The Rotor app feels a little more simple to use (although still fiddly), so that’s progress.

My main concerns fall back on aftermarket support and availability of spare parts. Have heard really mixed reports about this in regards to WheelTop.
