Here in Canberra, I’ve (we) had a Fly6 since they were first released.
I got one after a friend was hospitalised by a careless driver and the police weren’t interested.
I’ve only taken on-road footage from the camera about 3 times in ~15 years, and I’ve used it for some race footage.
Personally I haven’t had any sense that motorists have become worried about being filmed. I was hoping there’d be more awareness over the years.
I agree with the initial premise that frequently posting incidents is a bad idea. All those dashcam social media channels are horrendous “look how bad everyone else is” - the worst of social media IMHO.
I wouldn’t have a camera unless it was also a light.
Ours are so old that Helen stopped using hers and mine is only just worth having. I’ve been debating for years whether I’ll get a new one. I think I’m still hoping that Garmin will update their camera radar so that it’s actually worth having.
