The rubber-ish contacts on the skin facing side of Garmin Dual HRM strap are starting to separate at the stitching. Has anyone ever used something like Shoo Goo to repair an HRM strap? Yeah, I guess I need to buy a new HRM, but I wouldn’t mind milking some more time out of this strap. I have used Shoo Goo to repair, well, shoes and other things like tents, overshoes, etc, but I’ve never used it on an anything that was in contact with bare skin. I don’t know if the cured Shoo goo will be kinda of tacky/sticky on the skin. I would think that could be a source of some skin irritation.
You can get just a replacement strap, rather than a new HRM. I replaced the strap on my Wahoo Tickr with one from Amazon, and it actually worked better than the original, and has lasted much longer.
